On Friday, four dentists and oral surgeons will offer their services at a free clinic at Asheboro Dental Care on Cox St. The clinic starts at 8 a.m. and will serve up to 200 people age 18 and up on a first come, first served basis.

High Point University sophomore Rebekah Hollar has a passion for teaching, and before a recent trip to teach in Kenya, she raised $4,400 and a thousands pairs of shoes to donate to needy children there. Now, Hollar is trying to raise more money to help buy the children Christmas presents.

Buy Triad First Video

The owner of a local clothing boutique recently started Buy Triad First, an organization to promote locally owned stores and educate the public about where their money goes. The project is based on a national program called the 3/50 Project, which states that for ever $100 spent at a locally owned business, $68 returns to the community through things like taxes and payroll.
