The youngest of four children born to a Kernersville couple on St. Patrick's Day has died.
Father Matt Asbury told FOX8 News that Lillian Pearl Asbury, known as Lilly, died last week of complications from meningitis. Asbury said Lilly never recovered from it after her birth.
A journal entry on the family's Web site says:
On Friday, November 20th at 4:00pm, Lillian Pearl Asbury passed away in the arms of me and Patty. She was surrounded by her brothers and sister and many other loving family and friends.
I wish it would have been me instead....I miss her so much! I love you Lilly!
Doctors said fertility drugs were the reason Patricia and Matt Asbury welcomed their two boys and two girls to the world at Forsyth Medical Center on March 17, 2009. The babies were named Alex, Evie, Lilly and Nick.
