The body of a 20-year-old Marine from Gibsonville returned home to Alamance County today. Lance Cpl. Roger Hager was killed last week when an explosive device hit his vehicle in Afghanistan.

Hager joined the Marines last year, right after he graduated from Western Alamance High School. His mother said both of Hager's grandfathers were in the service, as are his brother and sister.

He had been in Afghanistan just three months.

The military returned his body to his home today, and Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson said Hager's family has the county's full support.

A visitation with Hager's family is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington. Hager's funeral will be held tomorrow, also at the funeral home. He'll be buried in the Gibonsville City Cemetery with full military honors.
