A police officer shot at a High Point man in a vehicle as it accelerated toward the officer Tuesday night, police said.
The suspect, Larod Lasharod Rowell, 24, was not hit, although the officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital, police said.
The officer's name was not released.
Police said the officer responded to 701 Greenhaven Dr. regarding a suspicious vehicle around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday. As the officer approached the vehicle, it accelerated toward him and he fired a single shot at it.
Rowell was arrested and charged with felony assault on a government official, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
He was jailed under a $100,000 bond.
