DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. - A second case of rabies has been reported this year in Davidson County.

According to health officials, a rabid fox was found in the Denton community April 5. The fox reportedly got into a fight with a dog that had not been properly vaccinated. The health department said no human was exposed to the fox and the dog has been put down.

The health department is sponsoring a rabies clinic Saturday, April 25 at the Davidson County Fairgrounds. The clinic will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The cost will be $5 per vaccination at the clinic.

Officials advise If you find stray dogs, cats, or wildlife in your neighborhood, call Animal Control at 336-249-0131. Call the Rabies Hot Line at 336-242-2348 if you or your pet comes in contact with another animal.
