WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP)—
A woman was injured and her dog was killed during a home invasion on Tuesday afternoon.According to police, officers responded to 4511 Circle Drive around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Jami Brandt, 40, was inside the home when two suspects entered and threatened her with a gun.
The suspects shot and killed her dog when it began to bark. Brandt suffered a gunshot wound to the hand when she attempted to stop the suspects from shooting her dog. The suspects fled on foot toward the 4600 block of Old Walkertown Road.
Brandt was treated by EMS at the scene.
