Haley Dunne, one of the most accomplished figure skaters to ever come out of the state of North Carolina, got her start at the Icehouse in Greensboro at the age of 5. Her parents drove her from Raleigh to take advantage of the Icehouse's beginner programs.
She's since moved to Alexandria, Va., to be closer to her coach, who she hopes will help her get to the next level.
She recently won a regional championship in the junior ranks and is aiming to move up to the seniors soon and be on track for the 2014 Olympics.
Last month, Haley participated in the Sealy/FOX8 Holiday Concert at the Greensboro Coliseum, where she met Olympic silver-medalist Nancy Kerrigan.
