ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. -
Investigators continue to search for an 87-year-old man who disappeared from his Mebane home Friday afternoon.
The Alamance County Sheriff's Office said Hugh Clark left his Trollingwood Rd. home at approximately 2 p.m. Friday driving a gold 1997 Lincoln Town Car ( North Carolina license VNP-1497). He was apparently heading to have the car's oil changed.
He was was reported missing at 7 p.m.
"The last time I saw him, he was in the yard," said Cindy Grissom, Clark's daughter. "I spoke to him before I went to work and when I came home, Mom said he left. He went to get a tuneup and oil change."
Grissom and a friend have been plastering posters with her father's picture on it and a description of his car at businesses in the Burlington area.
"We don't know how he's eating, drinking. His medicine is here. He has high blood pressure. I don't know if I can take another night of him not being here," she said.
Detectives said several people reported seeing a man who resembled Clark in the area of South Mebane, Trail Eight, O'Neal and South Church streets around 5:30 p.m. Friday. The callers told the sheriff's office the man was driving erratically as if he were disoriented.
A search in the vicinity yielded no results or leads.
"Clark doesn't have a cell phone, so we can't track him. he doesn't have Onstar, so we can't track him that way, and there is no usage of credit cards," said Randy Jones, a spokesman for the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said it had received no reports of possible sightings since Friday afternoon.
Clark is described as standing 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray shirt, navy blue pants and brown shoes.
