Rogelio Bahena
STONEVILLE, N.C. -
A group of trick-or-treaters got a real scare Saturday after returning home and finding a man asleep on the couch, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
Harold Davis and Amanda Evans, of 670 Belton Rd., told deputies one of the kids they were trick-or-treating with spotted the man and started to scream.
The noise woke the man -- later identified as Rogelio Bahena, 27, of Galloway St. -- who left.
Davis said he asked a neighbor, Justin Hickman, to follow the man while Davis searched the rest of his home.
Deputy Johnny Flynn responded to the scene and arrested Bahena, who is charged with breaking and entering.
Deputies said Davis and Evans failed to lock their door before leaving. Nothing was found to be stolen.
Bahena was jailed under a $20,000 bond and is also being held for Immigration and Naturalization Services.
Deputies said alcohol was a factor in the incident.
