Johnsie Hudspeth

An Elkin woman died at a Florida hospital Friday, Nov. 13 after she had trouble while on a commercial dive.
The Monroe County Sherrif's Office said Johnsie Hudspeth, 59, was diving offshore Key Largo, Fla. with a commercial dive trip when she surfaced indicating she was in distress. Hudspeth was rushed to shore, where she was conscious and breathing, but she later died at a local hospital.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Hudspeth owned a Century 21 real estate agency. Services for Hudspeth will be at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
