Authorities on Monday charged an Eden woman with hitting and killing a bicyclist late last month. Grayson Dawson, 48, was charged with felony hit and run, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and driving with a revoked license.
Troopers said Dawson crossed the center line on Church St. and hit cyclist David Sherman, of Summerfield, head-on, killing him. Dawson also failed to stop after the collision, the state highway patrol said.
A week ago investigators located the vehicle involved in the collision, a silver Dodge Durango, at a home in Rockingham County.
Dawson made bond and was released from jail Monday.
