Authorities charged a second person from Virginia with murder in connection with the shooting death of a Martinsville man outside a night club over the weekend.
Detectives arrested Shavon Lamont Reid, 21, of Martinsville, at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after he turned himself in at the Eden Police Department. Reid was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Timothy Ronnel Seay.
Earlier in the day, a juvenile from Virginia turned himself in to police and was charged with first-degree murder in Seay's death.
Seay, 37, of Martinsville was killed and two other Virginia men were injured during a shooting near the Icehouse Club and Lounge early Saturday morning, police said.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m., two officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle behind The Hair Company at 624 Monroe St. when they heard gunshots coming from the street.
The officers said they saw two people running from the area of the Icehouse Club and Lounge, located at 634 Monroe St.
Police found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of them were taken to Morehead Memorial Hospital, and one was later transferred to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Seay died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
The other two victims were Jason Maurice Gallant, 25, of Richmond, Va., and Terris Tewayne Dandridge, 30, of Martinsville.
