LEXINGTON, N.C. -
ABC's Extreme Home Makeover chose the Creasey family of Lexington, N.C. for its latest project, and Ty Pennington, his crew and thousands of volunteers finally had a dry day of work, making it easier as they build a new 3,000 square foot home from the ground up.
Tricia Creasey, a seventh-grade teacher, was diagnosed with colon cancer three years ago and refused to stop teaching while undergoing chemotherapy and surgery. The show sent the Creasey family to Walt Disney World while the crew builds their new house.
The project has drawn a lot of attention from the community. Shuttles have been taking people to and from the site between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily. The shuttle leaves from the old Wal-Mart shopping center on Plaza Parkway in Lexington, off exit 91 on Interstate 85 South.
