GREENSBORO N.C. -
Police are looking for the driver of a car they claim contributed to the death of a motorcyclist Saturday evening.
The incident happened on E. Wendover Ave. just east of Huffine Mill Rd. Police said Eugene Bullard Jr., 44 of McLeansville, was heading eastbound on a motorcycle when a white vehicle turned in front of him.
While trying to avoid hitting the vehicle, Bullard lost control, ran off the road and hit a tree.
Police said Bullard died from his injuries at a local hospital.
"There's a mother that's lost her son, there's a uncle who was like a special brother," said Bullard's cousin.
Investigators say Bullard was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but he hit the tree at such a high speed, it could not protect his head.
Police are investigating the case as a fatal hit and run.
