GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- Fitness equipment manufacturer Precor Inc. will open a new manufacturing, assembly and distribution facility in eastern Guilford County and hire 142 employees by 2011, the company announced Wednesday.
Precord said it will build a 225,000-square-foot building at Rock Creek Center, investing $26.2 million in the project.
The average wage of the 142 new jobs will be $38,456, according to the company.
Precor received an economic development incentive grant from Guilford County to bring the facility to the county, and company officials said the training opportunities at Guilford Technical Community College contributed to its decision to come.
