ASHEBORO, N.C. -

The 350,000-square-foot facility on 33 acres adds 133 jobs to the area, the Minneapolis-based company said, and represents an investment of $140 million.
The Asheboro factory will produce two of the company's cereals: Frosted Mini Spooners and Frosted Flakes. Additional lines could be added as the company grows.
The company produces more than 25 different kinds of cereals and a line of oatmeal products. They're sold in virtually every supermarket in North Carolina.
Malt-O-Meal received $4 million in local incentives and more than a million dollars in state money to open the facility in Asheboro.
At the grand opening Tuesday, Malt-O-Meal announced a donation its Million Bowls donation drive to benefit North Carolina food banks. The goal of the drive is to donate 1 million servings of cereals to the food banks.
The company also has plants in Utah and Iowa.
