Police arrested three teenagers on charges of attempted murder, assault and robbery in connection with the shooting Wednesday of a store clerk.

Police said Waqar Gilani, 23 of Archdale, was shot twice near the Skeet Club Grocery, a store that's part of the Parrish Plaza shopping center at 1533 Skeet Club Rd., west of N.C. 68.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, a patrol officer pulled over a car matching the description of the car a neighbor saw leaving the Skeet Club Grocery earlier in the day. The car was pulled over near the intersection of College and Montlieu in High Point.

Officers arrested Robert Napper, 17; Antionio Gutierrez, 17; and Gregory Stephenson, 18. They were jailed under $400,000 bonds.

Each suspect is charged with attempted murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Police said all three are students at Southwest Guilford High School.

According to police, Gilani is in stable condition at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro as of Thursday morning.

Police have not said how the robbery took place or what was taken.
