A Greensboro road is closed this morning due to an apartment fire near UNCG.
Greensboro crews said an apartment on Tate Street caught fire around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning. No one was injured in the fire, but crews shut down the road until things can be cleaned up.
Tate Street is closed between Kerr and Walker. Chief Douglas said there is a problem with a fire hydrant near the apartment and Water Resources may have to close the road for an extended period of time.
Chief Douglas also said the fire was contained to one apartment. He did not say how the fire started.
