Five dogs that were involved in the attack of a child in Pinnacle on September 25th were euthanized on Monday, according to Bobby Gallimore, Surry County Animal Control supervisor.The dogs that mauled a 5-year-old boy in Pinnacle on September 25th were euthanized on Monday.
According to Bobby Gallimore, with Animal Control, the dogs were euthanized after the owner couldn't afford to build a structure to keep the dogs contained.
J.J. Childress, 5, was severely injured when he went over the dog 's fence and was mauled. According to Claude Daniel Childress, the boy's grandfather, the boy suffered wounds to his face, neck, shoulders and chest.
Detectives said an adult was feeding five of the dogs when the boy got into the fenced area.
