If you're one of the many FOX8 WGHP viewers that haven't been able to pick up our new digital signal, we're working on the problem.

During the transition to all-digital, FOX8 began simulcasting our programming on UHF digital channel 35 in 2002.

On Friday, June 12 at about 11:04 p.m., we permanently signed off transmitting our analog signal. At the same time, we also turned off the UHF digital transmitter and broadcast exclusively on VHF channel 8.

We've received calls and e-mails from viewers who, since Friday night, have not been able to pick up our new signal.

Today, WGHP-TV applied to the Federal Communications Commission for permission to temporarily return to UHF channel 35. In a separate application, the station has asked for permission to raise power on our VHF channel 8 signal.

Matt Nodine, FCC Southeast Regional Director for Digital Television appeared live during Wednesday's FOX8 5:00 News to help answer viewer's questions.
