Grenade Donated at Goodwill Store was Training Device
An employee at the Goodwill store in Madison found what appeared to be a grenade in a donation bin, but further inspection revealed it did not pose any threat.

Police responded to the thrift store at the Rockingham Square Shopping Center and discovered the device still had the pin in it. It was taken to the police department and the Greensboro Bomb Squad was called to defuse the device.

According to Capt. Trent Walker with the bomb squad, the device turned out to be a military training grenade and did not pose any threat.

Madison police Chief Perry Webster said the training grenade was found in a bin with other clothing. Officials said they are not sure who donated the item.
