LEXINGTON, N.C. - A southern Davidson County family will be featured on the ABC series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Show host Ty Pennington and his team of designers arrived at the Creasey family's home Wednesday morning, and with Pennington's trademark "Good morning, Creasey family!" announced their plans to rebuild the family's Allred St. house.

Tricia Creasey, a seventh-grade teacher, was diagnosed with colon cancer three years ago and refused to stop teaching while undergoing chemotherapy and surgery. She receives weekly treatments that cost the family $1,400 a month after insurance.

The show features family across the country that are in need of home renovations.

The Creaseys bought their house as a fixer-upper, but haven't had the time or money for the necessary repairs.

The house has only one bathroom and numerous structural problems, including holes in the floor, cracks in the foundation, lack of insulation and extensive water damage from a leaking roof.

The Creasey family, which consists of Tricia, her husband William and their daughters Brittany, Mackenzie and Makayla, will enjoy a vacation to Walt Disney World while Hedrick Creative Building of Lexington and more than a thousand community volunteers rebuild their home.

Spectator parking for the project is available at the old Walmart shopping center on Plaza Parkway in Lexington. Shuttles there will take spectators to the build site.
