GREENSBORO N.C. - Organizers of Greensboro's Fun Fourth Festival are looking for cash. Because of the recession, organizers said they've lost several sponsors.

Sunday, Fun Fourth sponsored a Flag Day fundraiser at Hamburger Square Park.

The event was complete with music, food and vendors selling U.S. flags.

Events chairman Betty Cone said the annual July 4 celebration costs about $125,000, and they're currently short about $9,000.

"Our hope is that we'll earn enough make a dent. We still have sponsorships coming in, but if someone would like to make a contribution so we can make sure we have a good day and bring free fun to the community on the Fourth of July," said Cone.

She says this year's July 4 celebration will not be as large as other years. For example, there will be five stages instead of seven.
