Teen Charged with Threatening "Mass Shooting" at Middle College

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) - A teenager was arrested on Saturday after allegedly threatening to commit a "mass shooting" at the Alamance-Burlington Middle College

According to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Markise Antonio White threatened an instructor at the Middle College on October 19th and October 20th. The alleged threats referenced a mass shooting at the Middle College and a specific threat was communicated to the instructor.

A series of interviews were conducted and authorities issued warrants for White on Friday, November 13. White turned himself in on Saturday.

The Sheriff's Office said White also has connections with an area street gang known as the "Neighborhood Mafia."

White faces charges of making a false report of mass violence on educational property and communicating threats. He was transported to Alamance County Jail and placed under a $100,000 secured bond.

The Alamance-Burlington Middle College is located on the campus of Alamance Community College.
