WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP)—
Two residents and two firefighters were injured in a blaze at a home late Sunday night.Winston-Salem firefighters arrived at 448 Camden Ridge Drive around 9:30 p.m. and found heavy flames and smoke.
A resident inside the home, Christina Harris, had escaped from the burning home before firefighters arrived on the scene. Firefighters then rescued Paul Urban from a second-floor bedroom.
Urban and Harris were taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for treatment. According to the Greensboro News & Record, Urban is listed in serious condition. Harris' condition was unavailable.
Two firefighters injured in the fire were treated and released from Forsyth Medical Center for steam burns. The fire department did not identify the injured firefighters.
According to a release from the fire department, the fire was caused by a pot of grease let unattended on the stove in the kitchen. Firefighters took less than 20 minutes to control the fire.
Damage to the home and its contents was estimated at $150,000, according to the Winston-Salem Fire Department.
