A man who disappeared after being placed under house arrest on an attempted-murder charge was rearrested and jailed Thursday, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.

Charles Gray Gordon, 41, of Thomasville, was arrested on Sept. 8 on charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and impersonating a law enforcement officer. The previous day, two men were hospitalized as a result of an assault on Jim Pierce Rd. in Trinity.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's office said Gordon had removed his monitoring device and disappeared.

Gordon was rearrested Thursday and jailed under the charges of violating a domestic violence order and violating electronic house arrest.

His bond was set at $750,000.
