A petite Florida woman bagged an 11-foot, 500-pound alligator with a crossbow last week during her first alligator hunt.

Arianne Prevost, 23, spotted the gator in the St. John's River during the statewide hunt last week. It took about 45 minutes to reel the beast in.

Prevost is about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 112 pounds.

"I just kind of had a feeling I knew that I wanted one no smaller than a 10-foot gator, and I told them that. And we had seen a couple, and I was like, 'No. I want something bigger,'" she said Thursday during an interview for the Fox News Channel filmed in the FOX8 studios.\

A local taxidermist will mount the alligator's head. Prevost said she plans to use the rest of the gator as food.
